Rowena Perkins

Having won the Brighton leg of the regional finals of Idol UK, she has her fingers crossed for a place on a UK tour. We are sure that all her hard work for the grand finals in November will pay off!

Rowena first started classical singing when she was thirteen, but then discovered pop a few years later - citing her early influences as Mariah Carey, Christina Anguilera and Alicia Keys. An experienced globe-trotter who likes to mix things up, she performed back-up vocals in Thailand during her gap year, then sung with a band in Portugal.

After attending one of the introductory workshops earlier this year Rowena demanded lessons from Leon and hasn't looked back. She says that the SLS technique has totally transformed her voice and she has discovered a new range and her confidence with dealing with 'the mix' has increased. Rowena is now singing songs that she wouldn't have dreamed of attempting previously and believes that her training with Voxbox will only increase her chances of success.

Rowena is not one to rest on her laurels and her passion for singing is unstoppable. She has already appeared on three recordings and is looking for a collaborator to assist her with penning her original material for her first demo. As you can see, Rowena's focus is firmly on the prize - that all-important recording contract!
